Welcome to Kawhia and Aotea harbour, considered the horse trekking and adventure paradise of New Zealand. My name is Aotea and I've loved horses ever since my dad placed me on a small Shetland pony, when I was only two years old.

I'm now nine years old and on behalf of our riding and adventure club, I will be your hostess to introduce you to our eco wonderland and to share our passion for riding the most amazing, noble animal in the whole wide universe.

I've still much to learn about this fascinating creature, but I've realized that to get the most pleasure, and the best results, from our horses and ponies, it is very important we should love and care for them and try to understand their natural behavior patterns.
